“Max Goedecke” releases new single!

The Singer and songwriter Max Goedecke is a very talented artist.

His authorial songs are very good and he likes to write about feelings and the challenges that he face in life.

According to Max, life tells the best stories.

Remember that all his compositions are written in english, because Max is german. He sings at public places and give to all his audience, a very good show.

Max Goedecke is an indie-rock and folk artist from Cologne, Germany.

After seeing the Guns N ‘Roses video for “Don’t Cry” for the first time, Max knew he wanted to play the guitar – and thus became his passion in his youth.

After constant frustration with the singers and falling in love with the songs of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, Max also started to sing.

This was revealed for a passionate busking career (#streetmusic), which took Max with his guitar from Edinburgh to London, through Germany to Santa Maria Di Castellabate in Italy.

Max released his first album “Newspeak” in 2018, which was a small indie hit.

He was praised by the independent blogs ObscureSound (USA) and TheRockPit (Australia).

With the album, Max gathered experiences with his first bands and played constantly since 2018.

In 2020, he released and recorded “The Quarantime Session Volume 1” during Corona’s blockade in Germany.

A first studio single that was released on July 13 under the name “Good Damn Girl”.

Max answered the seven questions from the miojomusical!

What are the influences of your new single? Both in bands and in styles?

Well I think most of my influences origin from the music I enjoyed when I was a teenager. And that was mostly Guns N’ Roses, Neil Young and the first two albums of Avril Lavigne. But later I also got into singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Ed Sheeran: so, my singing style has definitely enveloped from there.

What are the themes of the single?

I wrote the song in my teenage heydays and it was one of my first original songs! It is dedicated to Avril Lavigne. I even give a small hint for it when I sing “She’s down from Canada”. Back then, I always wished that a guitar playing singer girl like her would show up at school – I think I felt a little bit desperate with my artistic dreams and longings.

Which artists do you listen to the most?

Currently I listen most to Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Cat Stevens. But back in my teenage days I enjoyed most Guns N’ Roses! I’m a big Izzy Stradlin fan! And I’ve seen them since Reunion in 2016 two times live – was a great experience!

What message do you want to convey to your listeners?

Spread love in the world with your music!” is my message. Music unites cultures and overcomes borders. It is a universal language we all share and connect to!

Do you identify with any band or artist?

No just with myself, I’m a good mix of the old and the new. Actually, I don’t like this Rockstar behavior of some older bands I listen to – but it was a different time and back then it was lived culture. On the other hand, I also don’t like that stars nowadays seem sometimes to be untouchable or on the other hand ranting senseless on Twitter. I would love a world with more respect for each other and altruism.

Would you like to do shows in brazil?

I would love to! Just get me a booker and concerts and a place to sleep every night and we can start directly after Corona

Yes, I would love to record a single with another artist! Get me a good Brazilian artist and let’s participate together!
